NZXT's latest addition to the Crafted Series takes cues from gaming culture with elegant curves and a newly designed large clear side panel for exceptional views.
Built from solid .88mm and 1.00mm steel, the Guardian 921 gives the user ample space for large, high-end video cards and space for up to four internal hard drives.
Three temperature probe monitoring system allows the user to constantly gauge thermals within the system at all times to prevent overheating and maximize performance gains
E-SATA, Intel HD audio, mic, and two 2.0 usb inputs are standard with the Guardian 921 allowing for maximum peripheral input
Comes standard with 3 X 120mm fans installed to maximize cooling performance with minimal noise.
The all new Guardian 921 RB features a bottom mounted PSU, CPU heatsink cutout, and an extra slot for a 140mm fan at the top for more cooling performance.
The all new Guardian 921 RB comes in both red/blue LED combinations.
Basic Screw-less system
About the Case:
Case Front: The NZXT Guardian 921 is as always carved into a visually stunning jewel as NZXT often achieves with the gaming level cases offered. Simply pleasing design with LED back lights to match this case also offers a brilliant LED panel for the 3 temp control sensors shipped with the case. This panel is located at the top of the front panel for excellent visual access. Under the top LED panel is the front door panel covering most of the remaining front end followed by a mesh backlit cutout for the front 120 mm intake fan. All I/O panel connections are unusually located on the bottom right side panel and include 2 usb 2.0, E Sata, and 2 audio ports( HD and MIC).
Case Rear: The rear has the commonly included 120mm fan and support for liquid cooling including the cutouts for the coolant lines to an external radiator. New for this case the power supply mounts at the bottom of the rear.
Case Top: Nothing fancy here just the SECC casing and a cutout for the 120 mm fan.
Case Bottom: Looking at the bottom we have four rubberized feet helping with anti-vibration. Also in the bottom rear you will find plenty of room for your PSU to tuck in below the VGA card.
Left Side Panel: The left side panel has one of the largest clear cutouts around enhancing visibility to the inner case components. One feature here is the panel swings from the rear providing quick and easy access to the inner panel.
Right Side Panel: Flat panel design.
Inside Case: Inside the case there is not a lot of features to boast about and seems outdated with current configuration options. Options such as 2.0 usb on I/O panel, Lack of 2.5 bays and low quality tool less mounts make up this cases interior.
Our Comments:
The NZXT Guardian 921 is without a doubt a stunning looking machine, I really like the front panel design with LED and also the side huge clear cutout on the side panel for those lighting effects. I was not impressed once a closer look was taken at the rest of this case. The front I/O panel has 2 usb 2.0 ports nowhere did i see 3.0 ports there, and the drive bay configurations are lacking compared to other cases on the market. So based on the looks of this case, I would buy it if that's the case i wanted based on looks, in the case of options this case would not be recommended for today builds and upgrade specs around the corner. The NZXT Guardian 921 is currently priced at 75.00.
